The “San Vili” path connects Trento to Madonna di Campiglio, the Adige Valley to the Brenta Dolomites, along alternative walking routes (ancient paths, new cycle paths) that lead from the city to the mountains. The path follows the ancient Roman road that tradition has it covered in 400 AD. from Vigilio, the patron bishop of Trento, and from his remains, after his martyrdom in Rendena. They are about 100 kilometers, divided into six (or five) stages, in search of scenic, historical and naturalistic emotions.

The “SAN VILI” route
Frequented by a growing number of hikers and pilgrims, in 2013 the Path was updated to form a “LOW” and an “HIGH” itinerary.

The San Vili “BASSO”, easier and with fewer gradients, includes the new sections, better connected to the inhabited centers and identified, adapting them to logistical needs, even to the likely historic passage of Bishop Vigilio.

The route is proposed in the following six stages:
from Trento / Duomo to Sopramonte
from Sopramonte to Due Laghi
from Due Laghi to San Lorenzo in Banale
from San Lorenzo in Banale to Saone
from Saone to Caderzone Terme
from Caderzone Terme to Madonna di Campiglio
Length: 106.9 km

The San Vili “ALTO”, on the other hand, substantially respects the original 1988 proposal, which was also adapted to the logistical needs of the stopping places. The two paths partly coincide.

The “ALTO” route of San Vili proposed in the following five stages:
from Trento / Duomo to Monte Terlago-Vallene
from Monte Terlago-Vallene to San Lorenzo in Banale
from San Lorenzo in Banale to Larzana di Montagne
from Larzana di Montagne to Caderzone Terme
from Caderzone Terme to Madonna di Campiglio
Length: 109.8 km
